A number of countries have already enrolled for the World 3D Archery Championships to be held at Robion in September…for some, this will be a first.
In 2015 the World 3D Archery Championships in Terni brought together 25 nations. It’s possible that Robion will break this record as the enrolments have already started rolling in. “France would appear to be rather attractive to international delegations. Our country, and in particular Provence, still remains very enticing” explains Michel Dumas, the President of the World 3D Archery Championships’ Organisational Committee.
In fact, with 120 days to go, France, Hungary, Spain, Finland and Sweden which customarily participate in The World Championships, have already enrolled an impressive number of delegations.
Mexico will also be present with twice the number of archers than on the previous occasion. Furthermore, other nations are expected to attend: Great Britain, Switzerland, Belgium, Uruguay and Argentina.
Amongst the nations represented for the first time is Monaco! Two archers from the principality will in fact participate in the trails having received the support of Prince Albert! The Ivory Coast will be present which will be the first time that an African nation takes part in a competition of this kind. This is very pleasing! And yet another newcomer, a delegation of 7 people will be arriving from Kuwait!
“My dream is that 5 continents should be represented!” declares Michel Daumas who has given a young archer working in Australia the mission of promoting the championships.
